Momo Food Truck Campaign:
Nepali Style Food Truck Ads for College Students

The Client.

The client was a Nepali Style food truck local to Harrisonburg. They were interested in advertising to students on the JMU campus, and partnered with my Creative Advertising Campaigns class. This was a group project. I conducted the primary research and did all of the design work. The goal was to create one print ad and one out-of-home ad.

We conducted primary research by physically visiting Momo Hub and sampling dumplings (tasty!) and also by conducting surveys on campus (not as tasty).

The surveys addressed student behavior and activity, especially pertaining to how/when/why students eat on/off campus. This helped me to come up with the idea to make our out-of-home ad a napkin holder advertisement for JMU dining halls.

Momo Final

Roughs.

One of my group members worked on the copy for the advertisements

I designed the physical ads. I wanted them to be colorful to convey the Nepali influences.

I also wanted them to have an illustrated but breathable look.

Final Design.

We chose to fully design the right two rough designs.

Our print advertisement was a flyer, so it couldn't have a dark blue background the way it did in the rough.

I gave both a texture and adjusted the colors.
